EcoPure® is an organic additive that causes plastic to biodegrade* through a series of chemical and biological processes in a landfill disposal environment.
There are approximately 250 million tons of trash produced in the United States annually. As a result, landfills are filling up faster and faster since many materials degrade at an extremely slow pace. In response to this problem, Bio-Tec Environmental developed EcoPure®, an organic additive designed to enhance the speed of plastic decomposition in landfills.

- Maintains the Strength of the Plastic: EcoPure® plastic additives are designed to start the plastic biodegradation process* only after reacting with microbes found in landfills. That means EcoPure® treated plastics are just as strong as non-treated plastic. The only difference is that the material will biodegrade* in a landfill much quicker than untreated plastics.
- Is Thoroughly Tested and Proven: EcoPure® additives are tested using the ASTM D5511 test method and proven to biodegrade* plastic at a highly accelerated rate.

* Biodegradation rates of EcoPure-treated plastic materials measured according to the ASTM D5511 test method. Tests are generally conducted using 20% to 30% solids content; solids content in naturally wetter landfills range from 55% to 65%, while the driest landfills may reach 93%. Actual biodegradation rates will vary in biologically-active landfills according to the type of plastic used, the product configuration, and the solid content, temperature and moisture levels of the landfill.
